Porterbrook is one of the UK's leading rolling stock owners and a long-standing client of Aura. Having developed a refreshed brand identity, Porterbrook appointed us to deliver a comprehensive rebrand programme across the Long Marston Rail Innovation Centre, encompassing both site branding, rolling stock, and some fleet assets.

As we're already familiar with Porterbrook's brand and have the capacity to deliver every aspect of the project from survey to installation in-house, Porterbrook benefit from having one supplier in control of the complete rebrand programme.

With the new test track and brand launch planned ahead of Rail Live, one of the rail industry's largest exhibitions, the project required a fast turnaround, close collaboration and a seamless rollout across the site.

Working alongside Porterbrook and its external design agency, we carried out detailed site surveys and audits before developing a complete implementation strategy. The programme included new internal and external branding across the site, featuring directional signage, wayfinding, office graphics and building signage designed for maximum visibility.

Alongside the site branding, Aura rebranded a range of operational vehicles and site assets, including three shunters, four pickup trucks, a road sweeper and site golf buggies. All graphics were printed in-house and installed at Long Marston, ensuring consistency across every touchpoint of the Porterbrook brand.

With a limited timeframe to complete the rollout before Porterbrook's test track launch and the arrival of thousands of visitors for Rail Live, speed and coordination were critical. Aura's dedicated team worked closely with Porterbrook throughout the project, coordinating multiple workstreams simultaneously while maintaining quality and brand consistency.

The result was a fully transformed site, providing Porterbrook with a cohesive, professional brand presence ahead of two important milestones.

We've also rolled out the rebrand across Porterbrook's Derby and London offices, installing new internal and external signage to complete the company-wide refresh.

The result was a streamlined, efficient solution that reduced complexity and created a strong visual platform for the next chapter of the Porterbrook brand.
